Indoor spaces need ventilation, dirt removal and control of odour or pollution sources. Ozone does not replace these measures. This guide reviews what to know about ozone cleaning<\/a>, without assuming universal disinfection or an absence of risks.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What does ozone treatment involve?<\/h2>\n

The gas ozone<\/a> is an oxidising gas that can be generated from oxygen using specialist equipment. Its effect depends on application conditions and is not equivalent to physically removing dirt.<\/p>\n

It can react with contaminants but may also irritate airways and affect materials. It should not be described as a universal sterilant or applied around people or animals.<\/p>\n

Any treatment requires assessment by a competent company and qualified professionals<\/a> , checking lawful use, procedures, exposure controls and re-entry conditions.<\/p>\n

Uses and precautions by setting<\/h2>\n

    Industry: any use must be justified for the specific process and meet applicable requirements. Total microorganism elimination cannot be promised without validation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Air conditioning: duct cleaning and maintenance require technical assessment. Generating ozone does not guarantee clean ducts or improved indoor air quality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Water: ozone treatment systems are controlled technical installations. A room ozone generator is not an appropriate way to guarantee drinking water safety.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Childcare: prioritise the centre’s cleaning and ventilation protocols. Do not use ozone in occupied spaces or present it as general protection for children’s health.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Hospitals: procedures are determined by healthcare and infection control leads. Ozone is not the only preventive measure or a substitute for clinical protocols.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    After building work: remove dust and residues first. Ozone does not perform this task and may affect some materials, so it should not be recommended automatically.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Commercial kitchens: follow the food hygiene plan, surface cleaning and extraction maintenance. Any additional treatment requires validation and compatibility checks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
